Welcome to

Thailand

Why nomads love
Thailand
?
  • Wide contrasts: Bangkok, hyperactive megalopolis, the islands with its beaches and its rocks rising from the sea and the North, deep and relaxing Thailand
  • Street food: whether you're walking down the street or in the local day/night markets, food is everywhere and is amazing
  • Cost of living: the cost of living in Thailand is much lower than what you will find in most countries of the world

Life in

Thailand

In addition to its cultural richness, the great attraction of Thailand remains without question the kindness of its inhabitants. Unlike its Southeast Asian neighbors, the former kingdom of Siam has never been colonized by a foreign power. Hence, no doubt, the strength of its culture. Faced with repeated foreign contact, the Thai people, often portrayed as jovial and carefree, have stubbornly fought to preserve their independence of spirit. Ancient culture with multiple facets, abundant artistic expression, exotic islands, tradition of hospitality, developed and well organized infrastructures, succulent cuisine... This country has everything to enchant the curious nomad!

Transports in

Thailand

In Thailand, travel is easy. The transport is varied and not very expensive. In the cities and around, the songthaew (collective cab with fixed route) and the tuk-tuk are the most widespread. To connect some cities, (mini) buses are numerous and cheap. However, the train is recommended for longer trips, between Bangkok and Chiang Mai for example, and the plane to go from Bangkok to the south of the country. For more freedom, it is also possible to travel by car and scooter rental, especially in the islands, but beware of the poorly developed tracks. Be careful, driving is done on the left in Thailand!
