Transports in

Indonesia

Public transport is unreliable and becoming scarce. Moreover, bemos, traditional transportation, tend to disappear and cabs are very expensive. The best option is to rent a car with a driver, which you should plan before your departure and budget for, or to use a private van company. Scooter rental is also possible for short distances, but beware of the often very bad road conditions.
