Transports in

Austria

Renting a car is convenient, but before entering an Austrian freeway you will need to either buy a sticker to stick on the windscreen or check that it is visible on your rental car. Austria has an excellent rail network managed by the national railroad company ÖBB. The country's rail network is extremely efficient, from the Austro-Hungarian plains in the northeast to the Vorarlberg mountains bordering Switzerland. In all, the country offers more than 10,000 km of marked bicycle paths.
